PEvAU: Fill in the gaps with the correct word (USE OF ENGLISH)

FOR MUSIC & SONG WRITING LOVERS

ENGLISH CHALLENGE

Are you a creative person?
Do you sometimes make up stories and write them down?
Have you ever written a song?

Well, if you have answered YES to at least 2 questions,
YOU´RE THE PERSON WE´RE LOOKING FOR.

Since this academic year is getting to its end and since this last term has been so weird, we want you to do something absolutely different and a bit crazy.

  • I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND, one of the most famous songs by The Beatles, was released in 1963. Here´s the video and the lyrics. Please, listen to it carefully as you read the lyrics.

  • They would have never imagined that, 57 years later, a “Coronavirus” version of that song would become viral. Again, here´s the video and the lyrics:

Which one do you like best?

SO, this is what we want you to do:

WOULD YOU( on your own or with your friends) BE ABLE TO

CHOOSE A SONG YOU LIKE ( it should be an easy one, one whose lyrics can be modified easily)

and CHANGE ITS LYRICS so that it becomes a Coronavirus hit??

You can write about wearing face masks and gloves/ getting together/ washing your hands/ keeping distance / staying home/ being desperate to go out/ going shopping/ not kissing or hugging your relatives and friends/ whatever other personal “Coronavirus/ lockdown ”experiences you want to share…..

BUT, WE DON´T WANT TO HURT PEOPLE´S FEELINGS ( we know this pandemic has been, and still is, a very serious issue. However, we think we must keep our sense of humour in order to overcome difficult periods of life). That´s why we must be respectful all the time. This is about having fun without hurting anyone.

ONLY FOR RISK-TAKERS:
A homemade video/audio file showing your teacher that special version??

Thank you! Enjoy the week!!
